Tejas Kulkarni – Founder
Tej Chess Academy is a testament to a lifelong passion for chess and cognitive development. Tejas embarked on his chess journey at the tender age of six and quickly established himself as a formidable player, garnering numerous awards at state and national levels. Notably, he is an internationally FIDE-rated player with a rating of 1863. His professional journey is equally remarkable, as he balances his role as an engineer at Microsoft with his passion for teaching chess.
Chess is not just a game, but a passion that beautifully complements his work in the tech world. A memorable instance showcasing this occurred during his interviews. Tejas’s resume, highlighting chess as a hobby, piqued the interviewer’s interest, leading to a question about the intricacies of the King’s Gambit. Tejas, drawing on his experience, provided a detailed description of this opening strategy. The interviewer was thoroughly impressed, and both of them further discussed the importance of building cognitive skills from an early age.
